National Celebrity Bobby Ducote from the Discovery Channel’s hit TV show ‘Street Outlaws’ found himself deep in the panhandle picking up a converter from Suncoast Performance.

During his trip he decided to stir up the local racing community by calling out hometown favorite Tyler Lee on social media. In the call-out, the racing celebrity stated he was coming to Emerald Coast Dragway in Holt, FL for the Tri-County Grudgefest with every intention of “plucking some feathers” off of Milton, FL’s Tyler Lee.

Saturday, the two racers arrived at Emerald Coast Dragway mid afternoon and headed straight for the staging lanes. No test passes, no warm ups.

The track suffered significant rainfall earlier in the day that scared away quite a few potential spectators. However, Emerald Coast Dragway used the rain instead of their pressure washers to clean and scrape the track guaranteeing the racers a proper no-prep surface.

The roaring engines started and approached the lanes, Bobby in the right lane, Tyler in the left. Each racer began laying down a long and loud burnout to heat up their tires.

With the engines screaming and audiences lining the fence-line, the pre-stage lights were lit and the two racers inched closer. Bobby staged first quickly followed by Tyler. Engines louder than jets flying close overhead, both racers were focussed and waiting for the signal.

Bobby gets the jump on Tyler but only for an instant. Tyler’s 1967 Chevy Nova wrapped in Red White and Blue racing flames overtakes the Street Outlaws celebrity Bobby Ducote in one of the closest matches we’ve seen in a long time.

The video on Tyler Lee Racing’s Facebook page has nearly nine thousand views in less than 24 hours turning the hometown favorite into a hometown hero. Not only did Tyler win the grudge match against Bobby Ducote, Tyler went on to win the Tri-County Grudgefest placing first in his class!

During his final run to win Tri-County, Tyler’s car suffered significant damage and is down for repair. However, Tyler will be back out at the Emerald Coast Dragway this weekend, July 7th, cheering on the Neal family running in the Pro Mod class!
